Managing Partner Bringing over 40 years of extensive experience in conducting audits and providing management consulting services, Brainard is a graduate of California State University. After acquiring his CPA accreditation in 1973, he gained five years of audit experience at Ernst & Ernst and three years of internal audit experience as Director of Internal Audits with Atlantic Richfield Co.
Partner With powerful leadership skills, Melba has supervised numerous audits performed under Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circuloar A-133. As a Magna Cum Laude graduate from California State University, Long Beach, Melba has been a CPA since 1978. ​ She has acquired over 25 years of extensive experience in conducting audits and providing management consulting services focusing on the government and non-profit sectors.
IT Principal ​Providing IT assurance services to a diverse and grwowing client base, Robert has over 20 years of Information Technology audit experience. A graduate of City University of New York Queens College, he serves in the capacity of IT Audit Princpal with Simpson & Simpson, CPAs, where he audits different controls that ensure the security, integrity, and availability of information systems.

Bringing over 45 years of extensive experience in conducting audits and providing management consulting services, Brainard is a graduate of California State University. After acquiring his CPA accreditation in 1973, he gained five years of audit experience at Ernst & Ernst and three years of internal audit experience as Director of Internal Audits with Atlantic Richfield Co.

Brainard co-founded Simpson & Simpson, CPAs in 1976, and he has successfully serviced a vast range of industries such as government, heath care and non-profit organizations, for-profit entities, educational institutions, public utilities, and employee benefit plans.
Melba Simpson, CPA

A Magna Cum Laude graduate from California State University, Long Beach, Melba has been a CPA since 1978. ​She has acquired over 33 years of extensive experience in conducting audits and providing management consulting services focusing on the government and non-profit sectors. At the beginning of her career, Melba worked with Arthur Young & Company as a Senior Auditor, and then served as a controller for Black Bull music. She gained further experience as the Director of Finance prior to joining Simpson & Simpson, CPAs in 1988.

With powerful leadership skills, Melba has supervisored numerous audits performed under Government Audting Standards and OMB Circular A-133. Her strong work ethic has also afforded her the opportunity to serve as Partner on annual financial and compliance audits of the Los Angeles Unified School District, City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, City of Port Hueneme and Los Angeles County Community Health Plan.
Grace Yuen, CPA

As one of the best examples of a dedicated accountant, Grace, joined Simpson & Simpson, CPAS in 1987 after graduating from Pepperdine University. In 1989, she obtained her CPA accreditation and has gained over 31 years of audit experience concentrating primarily in the areas of government and non-profit organizations.

Grace has supervised numerous audits performed under the Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133. As Field Partner within her vast network of clientele, she oversees the annual audits of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions System, Water and Power Employee Retirement Plans, Southern California Edison Employee Benefit Plans, and Sempra Energy Employee Benefit Plans.
Robert Fleming, CISA, CIA, CFSA

Providing IT assurance services to a diverse and growing client base, Robert has over 24 years of Information Technology audit experience. A graduate of City University of New York Queens College, he serves in the capacity of IT Audit Principal with Simpson & Simpson, CPAs, where he audits different controls that ensure the security, integrity, and availability of information systems.
​
Robert's experience and practical knowledge, complemented by his professional accreditations, has equipped him to manage Informaiton Technology audits for the firm's key clients' financial statements. He, also, provides extensive IT assurance services to the Los Angeles Unified School District, the City of Los Angeles, Sempra Energy, and Sourthern California Edison.
